Margie has always held a deep passion and concern for the health and well-being of the planet, and all it’s inhabitants. She has expressed this in her life thru activism, education, leadership, community development, organic gardening, health consciousness, and as a Life Coach. Living an unconventional life style as much as possible inspires and motivates her. A very long time ago she left the corporate world and all it’s “benefits” to spend 3 yrs traveling across the county living in her RV, with her gypsy cat. Along the way she discovered intentional community living, was happy to live in a couple different ones, and hopes to be doing so again soon. She now lives in a 1 ½ room cabin on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains in VA.
Margie currently does elder care, having gotten a master training being a full-time caregiver for her father, suffering with Parkinsons and dementia, in his final years. She derives great enjoyment and peace from being in nature, birdwatching, growing flowers, meditation, yoga, journaling, volunteering at the local Food Bank, and helping others. In the past she has been director of an environmental education and retreat center, founded a tri-state activism media outlet, was instrumental in the start-up of a low powered FM community radio station, was the producer and host of her own Bliss101 Radio on the BlogTalkRadio platform, has facilitated hundreds of workshops, retreats, and seminars, is a Certified Laughter Yoga leader, co-founded ARTrageous Camps, and organized a local Lyme Disease support network.
The invitation to be a part of AWE’s mission supports Margie’s desires to be a part of the solution, not the problem, in these crazy times we find ourselves in, and she’s excited to be involved in the work and vision.
